Crocheted Jewelry with Matching Earrings

I love making Christmas gifts and birthday gifts for my friends as well as sharing easing projects with my crafty friends who appreciate the art of the handmade gift.  This was as easy as making a macaroni necklace as a child however, it is so much more glamorous.  Enjoy.  (I used a #4 crochet hook.)

Temecula, Barn Sales and Fabric

Last month I went to the barn sales in Temecula with my crafty and fun friend GinaMarie.  I purchased some of this cute fabric to make a purse, or tote bag.  I haven't decided what to make yet - I want to make sure I use every bit of the fabric.  I know for a fleeting moment I thought of something unique to make but just as quick as the idea came, it left.  I'm sure something will come to mind, the ideas are quick to come but the execution of them takes time.

Embroidery

Does anyone remember Holly Hobby?  This is one of the two Holly Hobby dolls I embroidered for my daughter in 1985.  I was going through old things in cupboards and came across the set.  I didn't think my daughter would want them after all these years but she said to save them for her.  I decided to remove them from the pink frames so I could store & preserve them better than if kept them in their frames.

I've noticed embroidery is making a comeback.   Is there anything more loving than making someone something by hand?  I don't think so.  My goal this year is to share my creativity on my blogs or in teaching classes.  I've got the blog down.  Now just need to work on the class proposals.  Let me know if there is anything you would like to learn.

P.S. I Quilt - Friendship Bag

I am always coming across some really great ideas and can never get back to them when I'm finally ready and have the time to try something new.  I thought this was a cute, quick & easy purse to try to make.  Instead of trying to keep track of a little post-it-note with the blog site, I thought I should just add it here and share.
Here's the picture that caught my eye as well as the link for the instructions with photos Quilt Bag Tutorial

Paisley Prints

Received my new designer paper from the new Idea Book & Catalog and just had to make something new.  I used the Embossing folder, paisley prints paper, new frame punch and coordinating fun frames set.  We will be making some Mother's Day cards, get well cards next weekend at  my Women's Fellowship group.  It's  so much fun to gather together and make cards for those who are sick or live alone.

Paris Cards

A day late but here are the cards I made to go inside the upcycled gift bags.
I used the Artistic Etchings Set, Item 118517 and Scallop Trim Border Punch, Item 118402, both in the
2010-11 Idea & Catalog.

Upcycling

I did a little Christmas shopping at Sephora for the Delightful Divas of my family. I just couldn’t toss out the really nice sturdy bag so I finally transformed it -
from this:

to this:

I had an old stash of Paris cards of which only a few remained. Fortunately I do have some similar Stampin’Up! stamps which coordinated. Tomorrow I'll take a picture and show you the cards I made to go inside the totes.

Hot Chocolate on a Stick

Here is the link for delicious FROZEN hot chocolate on a stick from GiversLog.    When you have time, make sure to get a cup of your favorite hot beverage and visit.  (I haven't had time yet - I was looking for some popsicle recipes for a stamping party and came across them.)   From a quick glance at her blog, she's a girl who loves all things crafty, like me!
