Floating Pressed Botanicals

I always come across some great ideas but never have time to try myself but I thought I would share with you in case someone out there in cyberland is looking for a fun project and has time to complete it.  It's from the California Home Design Website/Blog, July 20, 2013.

Amazing isn't it.  Here is the link to the full story:  FLOATING PRESSED BOTANICALS

How to Rust ANYTHING!

This is a great tutorial "An Experiment in Rust" if you're impatient and don't want to wait for rust to grow on your metal objects.  Also, if you have something that is not metal and you want to give it a rusty look, this is a great product.  Works on paper, plastic, and I'm sure anything else you would like to experiment with to get a rusty look. You can use the products below for a variety of rusty looks with some pizzaz.

I Should be Paying Bills, buuuut....

Look what I found while surfing the net!  Cathe Holden has a lot of freebie digitals on her blog.  What's lovely is that there is a variety and they're all in one spot!  What caught my eye was the sheet of red labels, Here is the link to her freebies.  Make sure to drop her a note. justsomethingimade - FREEBIES

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Touch

I really enjoy making tags for Christmas gifts but it seems I always forget to take pictures before I send them off to my friends and family.  Each Tim Holtz has a 12 days of Christmas tag posting which anyone can participate in or follow along with the techniques he uses.  I never do all 12 (someday though!) but I try.  They are very unique and he uses crafting supplies in fun ways.  Ellen Hutson has been following along but adding a twist which I thought I would post so you can see what she's done the past few years.  Here's is the link to all 12-tags-of-christmas-with-a-feminine-twist

Here are a few pictures:

Orange Circle International Faire

This weekend I went to  the Orange Circle's International Faire held every Labor Day Weekend.  The Orange Circle has some really great antique stores and little shops so it was a double treat for me to browse the shops, visit the craft booths and try some international food.

A few of the vendors had some fabulous art and jewelry.  I'll list a few of my favorites, I hope you'll visit their online shops and make a purchase or two to help support these small independent businesses.

The first vendor that caught my eye was custom jewelry by Vicki Casillas You Can Quote Me on That
Here is just a sample from her website:
Glass Locket (Vicki suggests gift for new mom.)

The next vendor was another jewelry artist.  Lariat Designs and more
Here are two samples from her website:
